Newtown, Pa. (April 21)- FDU-Florham Devils Women's Lacrosse senior
Alexis Ashton (Blairstown, NJ) and Junior
Alison Kozik (Ellington, Conn.) swept both offensive and defensive Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom honors this week for their performances against King's and Delaware Valley.
Ashton helped FDU to a 2-0 week in conference play by netting six goals against King's and seven against Delaware Valley for a total of 14 points. She also added 11 draw control wins to help give the offensive advantage to the Devils at the earliest moments of scoring opportunities. The senior also eclipsed the mark of 200 career goals, as well as 100 career ground balls
Kozik recorded a career high of 18 saves in the 16-15 overtime win over Delaware Valley, forced the extra time with a save in the last 40 seconds of the fourth quarter, but also collected 16 saves against King's. On the week, she faced a total of 78 shots and currently ranks first in the MAC Freedom in saves per game (11.75).
This is Ashton's second and Kozik's first career MAC Freedom Player of the Week honor.
Women's Lacrosse looks to travel to its last regular season game on Wednesday, April 23 at 4pm to take on Lebanon Valley for MAC Freedom action.
