Madison, NJ (April 15 ) – With a MAC Freedom Doubleheader scheduled, the FDU-Florham Devils Softball team received a visit from the King's Monarchs and found themselves listening to the Devils' roar as they won 5-0 and 2-0 in the conference sweep.
 
Game 1:

King's was the first to put a worry on the opposing team as they found themselves bases-loaded in the top of the first inning. The Devils' defense prevailed and avoided any runs scoring.
 
The Devils' offense was put to work in the second inning when Grace Capparelli (South Plainfield, NJ) made contact for her first collegiate home run, along with bringing in 3 RBIs for an automatic lead.
 
FDU-Florham's fourth run came off a throwing error by the shortstop at first base, causing the distraction for the runner on third to come home, 4-0.
 
In the sixth inning, Riley Signor (Media, PA) produced a quality at-bat even though she did fly out to the left fielder; she made the sacrifice to bring in the fifth and final run of the game between the two teams, 5-0.
 
Erin Sinatra (Colonia, NJ)(11-5) was seen in the circle for the Devils and recorded a season-high of 15 strikeouts as she faced a total of 28 batters, only allowing four hits.   
 

Game 2:

Once again, Capparelli got things started FDU as she singled up the middle for an RBI in the fourth inning.
 
King's managed to collect a hit in the fourth and sixth innings, but was unable to score any runs. The Devils made it a 2-0 game after another RBI single from Capparelli.
 
FDU-Florham ensured their defense was ready in the final inning, as they secured the 2-0 victory in game two and the conference sweep against the Monarchs.
 
Sinatra once again made a stance in the circle for the Devils, as she hit one batter but made up for it with an additional nine strikeouts.

 
FDU-Florham will continue in MAC Freedom play with a visit to Lebanon Valley on Thursday, April 17 as the next doubleheader. The first pitches are set for 1pm and 3pm. ,
