Madison, NJ (February 5)- Three FDU-Florham Football Student Athletes, including graduate student
Sean Theis (Delran, NJ), and fifth years
Christian Puntolillo (Wayne, NJ) and
Tim Miller (Baltimore Md) were recognized this morning by the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) as a part of the Fall Academic All-MAC teams for their respective sports.
The Fall Academic All-MAC teams recognize the top student-athletes both in the classroom and in athletic competition during the 2024 Fall semester. The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote on the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a spring semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.
Theis, Puntolillo, and Miller were part of 85 fall student-athletes to receive this honor. They were three of 22 student-athletes to be named to the Academic All-MAC team.
Theis completed his final fall semester with a 4.0 GPA and will be earning his master's in history/ education. As a 2024 All-MAC Honorable Mention Team honoree, he also made the 2024 Fall MAC Academic Honor Roll for his performance in the classroom.
On the field in his final season, Theis started in all ten games and helped the offensive line by contributing to the offensive effort that scored 30.90 points per game, 403.9 yards per game, 161.7 rushing yards per game, and 242.20 passing yards per game.
Puntolillo, a criminology major, finished this semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA. he was also named to the 2024 All-MAC Honorable Mention team and the MAC Academic Honor Roll for the 2024 Fall Semester.
In his final season, had made a stand of 57 tackles which included 36 solo and 4 tackles for loss which totaled 9 yards. Notching 1 interception in the Centennial-MAC Bowl game win against Dickinson, he upped his career total to 3 interceptions and ended with 183 total tackles in 31 total games.
Miller finished his fall semester with a 4.0 GPA and will be graduating this spring with a master's in cyber security. He was also named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll list in January
During his final athletics season, Miller helped secured the Centennial-MAC Bowl Game with one tackle against Dickson. On the season he totaled 22 tackles (13 solo) an accounted for 2 sacks on 17 yards lost. During his career, he notched 64 tackles and one interception, on 26 total games played.
