HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The FDU-Florham volleyball team defeated both Centenary and Marymount University Saturday afternoon, topping the Cyclones 3-1 and blanking the Saints 3-0 on the road.
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS
- Genevieve Fitch combined for 17 total kills on the day between the two matches.
- Amaya Ocasio tallied 46 assists in the two matches with 26 coming against Centenary.
- Arianna Wood led all Devils in digs on the day amassing 14 against the Cyclones and 16 against the Saints.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first match of the day against Centenary was a back-and-forth contest between the Cyclones and the Devils as both teams matched each other point for point in each set.
- The Devils came out on top in the first set 25-22 behind three straight kills from Gabbie Hart, Tayla O'Connor and Hannah Weinman.
- In the second set, Centenary used a 7-0 run to take an 18-14 lead, but the Devils fought back to knot the match at 20 but fell 25-23 for their only loss of the day.
- Set three was dominated by the Devils, at one point holding a 20-10 lead and taking the Cyclones out 25-14 before a close fourth set win at 25-23.
- Against Marymount, FDU held the Saints to below 20 points in each of the first two sets before a close 25-23 win in set four.
GAME NOTES
- The back-to-back wins ended FDU's four-match losing streak.
- This was the first tri-match the Devils swept their matches in this season.
- Saturday's matches were the third and fourth straight match in which Ocasio recorded 20 or more assists.
- Saturday's win over Marymount was Fitch's 11th match recording 10 or more kills.

The Devils return to the court on Tuesday, Oct. 14 for a MAC Freedom showdown with Misericordia. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
