Location: Madison, NJ (Ranger Stadium)
In the first half, neither the Devils nor the Rangers landed a shot in the net, resulting in a 0-0 score at the half. Drew led with 9 shots and 4 penalty corners, yet none of those opportunities were converted during that time. The FDU-Florham Devils defense and goalie, Ava Gianni (North Brunswick, NJ), held strong, not allowing the Drew University Rangers to shoot the ball past the posts.
In the second half, the Rangers were able to keep the advantage with 7 shots, with 4 on goal, but each team was awarded 3 penalty corners during the half. Drew's offense was strong, as they were able to sneak one goal past Gianni and the Devils defense at the 74:53 minute mark. The Devils found moments to strike, but unlike the Rangers, they were not able to land any of their shots.
The Devils fought hard from the 75th minute to the 90th minute to even the score, but ultimately fell 1-0 to the Drew University Rangers. Junior goalkeeper, Gianni, was in for the full duration of the match, facing 16 shots with 9 of those on goal.
The Devils will next travel to go against Neumann on Friday, September 27th for a 7:00pm matchup.
