In the fifth inning, after facing two straight outs, Tommy Sica (Wyckoff, N.J.) singled through the right side and advanced to second on a Chippendale walk. Chippendale made it all the way home on a Hendershot single to left field. The sixth inning is where Donovan hit his home run with a solo shot over the left field fence.

Delaware Valley kept Fairleigh Dickinson at bay with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 7-2. Thos runs were scored on a fielder's choice RBI and an RBI single through the left side.
Facing a game one loss if they could not produce big, FDU put together their best inning of the season with a massive 13-run inning that helped them take a commanding 15-7 lead. The defense held on in the bottom of the frame to take the game one win and the series.
