Myrtle Beach, SC (March 15) – In their final day of the Fast Pitch Dreams Classic, the FDU-Florham Softball team (6-6) saw a split record day as they claimed the 7-5 win over SUNY Poly (0-1), but unfortunately fell to UMass-Boston (8-1) in five innings by a score of 10-1.
Game 1:
In the first inning, FDU-Florham was out to a strong start as they brought in two RBI. SUNY Poly was also able to start strong with a RBI of their own, 2-1.
The Wildcats were then able to add two runs to the scoreboard and take their first lead of the game, 4-2, in the fourth inning with a ground out RBI to the third baseman.
The Devils came alive within the sixth inning as the walk from
Riley Signor (Media, PA) forced the runner on third home due to the basses being loaded.
Kristen Tigar (Hazlet, NJ) then helped FDU-Florham retake the lead with 2 RBI on a fielder's choice.
The Devils' final run of the game came from
Alissa Gallion (Roseland, NJ) as she was able to reach first base on a throwing error on the shortstop and helping collect another 2 RBI.
SUNY Poly gave it a final effort in the sixth inning as they added another run with an RBI single through the rights side. Neither team was able to add another run in the seventh inning, resulting in the 7-5 win for FDU-Florham.
Victoria Fantozzi (Hillsborough, NJ) (2-1) was seen in the circle against the Wildcats and managed to account for eight strikeouts, while facing a total of 32 batters. Pitching for SUNY Poly was Trinity Critelli as she was seen through 5.1 innings and recorded eight strikeouts.

Game 2:
FDU-Florham started the game against UMass Boston with
Abigail Rodriguez (Woodbridge, NJ) reaching first by a fielding error, bringing her teammate home for an RBI and the Devils' lone run of the game.
UMass-Boston was not able to bring in a run in the first inning. However, they did contribute eight runs in the second inning and added another two runs in the fourth inning, before forcing a mercy rule in the fifth inning, ended the game and handing the Devils the 10-1 loss.
Starting the game for FDU-Florham was Kelly Cornog (Newtown Square, PA) (4-4) as she pitched through 1.2 innings while recording one strikeout. She was given the loss while Alexis Fleischer (1-1) of UMass-Boston
recorded the win pitching in 4.0 innings and recording two strikeouts.
