Madison, NJ (February 25-26)- The FDU-Florham men's tennis team opened up the spring season this weekend at the Rangers Doubles Tournament hosted by Drew University on Saturday and Sunday.
The teams in attendance were FDU-Florham, Drew, Ramapo, Rochester Institute of Technology, Rider and Rowan College of South Jersey. The duos partners during the Invitational were
Ronald Duval (Old Bridge, N.J.) with
Matthew Emery (Howell, N.J.), Kelvin Liwag (Marlboro, N.J.) and
Brandon Schwartz (Gladwayne, N.J.) and
Jaden Andresen (Branford, Conn.) with
Arman Ali (Lodi, N.J.).
Duval and Emery, on Saturday, collected one doubles win on the day against Rowan's Deacon and Rafanello, 6-1. The paring fell just short against Drew's Acari and Faro, 7-5 and dropped other matchups against Rochester's Turcotte and Movva (6-3) and Rider's Ganeshan and Gitti (6-3). The two returned on Sunday and fell in both contests to Turcotte and Movva again, 8-3 and Lounder and Jayanetti from Rochester, 8-5.
The tag team of Liwag and Schwartz suffered four losses on Saturday against Lounder and Jaynetti from Rochester (7-5), Perera and Carraccia from Drew (6-2), Oshnavie and Arbitter from Rider (6-0) and Polvere and Thomas from Drew (6-2). The doubles team got the chance to compete on Sunday and got a win against Kravchenko and Thomas from Drew, 8-2.
Andresen and Ali suffered four losses in the tournament on Saturday to Baretta and Moon from Ramapo (6-3), Cardenas and Feldman from Rowan (6-3), Chang and Walerstein from Rochester (6-0) and Kravchenko and Reynolds from Drew (6-0). The tag team did not compete on Sunday.
FDU-Florham will have a quick turnaround as they compete tomorrow, February 26 at 4:00pm at Moravian for a head-to-head matchup.
