Bryn Athyn, PA (December 10) FDU-Florham Women's Basketball took on Bryn Athyn on the road. Unfortunately, they lost a close battle, 70-62.
FDU-Florham (3-7, 0-0 MAC Freedom) was led in by
Kolby Lynch (Morristown, NJ), who scored 23 points and earned nine rebounds and three steals defensively.

Bryn Athyn's (9-1, 3-0 United East) best player on the court was Zhymani Smith, who scored 30 points and two assists.
FDU started off the first quarter hot, opening the game with an 11-2 run. Lynch sunk the first two points of the run with a jumper before
Shannon Tighe (Wayne, NJ) connected on two free throws,
Christina Centeno (Bayonne, NJ) scored on a layup before Lynch scored the remaining points of the run, including a three-pointer to close the run to give the Devils a nine-point lead. After a bit of a run by Bryn Athyn, the next few minutes saw Centeno step up, hitting back-to-back threes for the Devils and keeping them in front by seven. The Lions clawed it back to a 3-point game before Centeno hit a jump shot once again. Those would be the last points of the quarter, and FDU led by five after 10 minutes played.
The second quarter started with the Devils going on a 10-6 scoring run, with the first five points being scored by
Bianca Sode (Kenilworth, NJ). Lynch put up the next three points before
Amaya Fifield (Cambridge, MA) scored the last two points of the run to put the Devils on top by a score of 29-20. The Lions roared back however, going on a large scoring run to score ten of the last twelve to shrink the Devils lead to one point, with the score being 31-30 to close the half.
The third quarter saw traded points to start the second half, with Tighe, Centeno, and Lynch all scoring for FDU. The Lions tied the game on a jump shot with 8:10 left in the third quarter, before the Devils went off, scoring the next 12 points in a row. Lynch scored the next four points before Sode hit a jump shot. Lynch then scored on a layup, and Sode and Tighe both hit jump shots to close the scoring run to take FDU ahead of Bryn Athyn by 12 points. The Lions scored the next four points before Lynch responded right back with three points of her own. Bryn Athyn closed off the quarter with four more points, and with ten minutes left to play, FDU held an eight-point lead, 50-42.
The fourth quarter saw it start with Bryn Athyn going on a 6-0 run, cutting FDU's lead to only two. FDU scored from the next two possessions from Sode and Walker to reclaim a six-point lead, but the Lions then went on a 7-1 run to tie the game once with 4:06 left in the fourth quarter. Sode scored a jumper to take the lead again, but Bryn Athyn scored the next four points to take the lead by a score of 59-57 to take the lead for the first time since they led 2-0. After some traded points, the Lions led 61-58, before Tighe buried a three-pointer to tie the game at 61 with 24 seconds left in regular time. The Lions missed their shot as time expired, and the game went to overtime with a score of 61-61.
A jumper from Centeno started overtime to give FDU a two-point lead before the Lions hit two free throws to tie the game up. Bryn Athyn took the lead with 2:45 left, before extending it to three points with 43 seconds remaining in overtime. With the Devils needing another bucket, Tighe delivered once again, hitting another three to tie the game at 67-67 and deliver the game to a second overtime.
Unfortunately, the Devils ran out of steam in the second overtime, as the Lions scored seven straight to start the quarter. After Sode hit a jumper to cut the lead to five, they scored six more in a row. Lynch put up the last bucket for FDU, but after two overtimes, Bryn Athyn came away victorious, 80-71.
FDU-Florham shot 36.5% (27-74) from the floor, 26.3% (5-19) from three-point range, and 70.6% (12-17) from the free throw line, while Bryn Athyn shot 35.6% (26-73) from the floor, 23.1% (6-26) from three-point range and 68.8% (22-32) from the free throw line.
Bryn Athyn earned more points off turnovers (33-16), points off the bench (20-2), points in the paint (34-24), and fastbreak points (6-3). FDU earned more points off second chances (13-12). Both sides had an equal number of points that took the lead (4-4) and tied the game (7-7).

The Devils will travel back to Madsion on December 14
th and go up the avenue to take on Drew away. Tip-Off will be at 12:00 PM.
