Madison, NJ (November 22) FDU-Florham Women's Basketball took on Johnson and Wales (Providence) at home. Unfortunately, they lost a close battle, 70-62.
FDU-Florham (2-5, 0-0 MAC Freedom) was led in by
Kolby Lynch (Morristown, NJ), who scored 16 points.
Bianca Sode (Kenilworth, NJ) led the Devils on the glass with 14 rebounds.

Johnson and Wales's (2-1, 0-0 Great Northeast) best player on the court was Brianne Foley, who scored 17 points and four assists.
The first quarter started with a big run from the Wildcats, going on a 14-3 run to start the game. FDU responded with 6 straight points, including shots from Lynch and Sode to cut Johnson and Wales's lead to five points. After some traded points, the Wildcats held a six-point lead over the Devils, 17-11.
The second quarter was dominated by FDU. After traded points from both sides, a Lynch jump shot and five straight points from
Julia Vazquez (Bound Brook, NJ) led to FDU taking the lead, by a score of 21-20. The rest of the quarter was a back-and-forward affair between the two offenses, as the lead changed six different times. A three-pointer from
Amaya Fifield (Cambridge, M.A) gave FDU the lead back in the final minute of the half, A made free throw by Sode was the last of the points scored in the second half, and FDU took a 30-28 lead into the second half.
The lead swung in the third quarter several times as well. After a three-pointer from the Wildcats, 2 free throws took the lead back for FDU. After 2 points from Johnson and Wales, a layup by
Christina Centeno (Bayonne, NJ) tied the game at 34. Centeno then scored the Devil's next five points as well. A tip in by
Shannon Tighe (Wayne, NJ) and a jumper and free throw by
Gabrielle Walker (Old Bridge, NJ) kept the Devils in front, but unfortunately, Johnson and Wales took the lead in the final minutes of the quarter, scoring 2 straight three-pointers to take a 2-point lead by a score of 48-46, with ten minutes remaining in the match.
The fourth quarter started with baskets on both sides. Vazquez scored four straight points to even the game at 52 with just over seven minutes left in the game. Sadly, Johnson and Wales tapped into the momentum they received at the end of the third quarter, scoring nine straight points to effectively clinch the game. The Wildcats extended their lead to 14 before free throws from Sode and Lynch earned four points back. A buzzer-beater jump shot by Lynch ended the game with the Devils scoring points, but at the end of the game, it was a win for the Wildcats by a score of 70-62.
FDU-Florham shot 28.0% (21-75) from the floor, 27.3% (3-11) from three-point range, and an impressive 81.0% (17-21) from the free throw line, while Johnson and Wales shot 32.0% (24-75) from the floor, 27.8% (10-36) from three-point range and 70.6% (12-17) from the free throw line.
Johnson and Wales earned more points off turnovers (20-8), second chance points (18-14), points in the paint (28-24), and fast break points (31-12). FDU earned more points off the bench (17-9). Both sides had an equal number of points that took the lead (16-16) and tied the game (4-4).
