The first extra point of the game was blocked by an Eastern player, resulting in a 6-0 score. It was not until Eastern's second drive when they were able to convert for a passing touchdown and the extra point to take the slight lead, 7-6. The Devils took back possession of the ball and were able to get to the EUE49 before the end of the quarter.
