Newark, NJ. (November 16) - FDU Florham Men's Soccer is defeated by Rutgers-Newark during the first round of the ECAC DIII Men's Soccer Championships, 3-2.

The Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders were able to earn a shot in the Devils goal early in the first half at the 9:05 minute mark. The Devils attempted to get on the board with 8 shots in the first half, but none of them converted. The score remained 1-0 until halftime as the Scarlet Raiders only converted 1 of their 12 shots.  

During the second half, the Devils were able to get on the board within the first 3 minutes of game play with a goal from Drilon Toska (Lincoln Park, NJ) assisted by Genti Dauti (Lincoln Park, NJ) at the 48:02 time stamp. At the 64:03 minute mark, FDU was awarded a penalty kick and Toska earned his second goal of the day pushing the score to a 2-1 Devil lead. Rutgers-Newark then evened the score at the 68:49 minute mark, resulting in both teams now fighting for the lead. The Scarlet Raiders regained the lead, earning a goal at the 73:09 time stamp, ultimately defeating the FDU Devils 3-2. 

FDU lead in shots with 28 (17 on goal) and tallied 11 corner kicks, while Rutgers-Newark tallied 19 (12 on goal) and shot 6 corner kicks.  

In goal for full duration of the match was Anthony Petrucci (West Orange, NJ), as he saved 9 of the 12 shots taken on goal by the Scarlet Raiders.
