The match started with both teams getting chances on the net, but neither scoring. After a very defensive first half, the game remained scoreless once the game reached halftime.
Not long after the second half started, the Scarlet Raptors took the lead as a scrum for the ball in front of the net lead to a Rutgers-Camden player tapping it past the goalkeeper to make the scoreline 1-0.
Rutgers-Camden doubled that lead on a free kick, as a Scarlet Raptor launched a strike into the top of the net to extend the lead to 2-0. The game remained that way to the end as both defenses held firm, and Rutgers-Camden took the 2-0 win.
Ava Gianni (North Brunswick, NJ) played the entire match for the Devils in net, and did well to limit the damage by earning five saves. FDU earned more shots (17-12) and shots on goal (9-7). The Devils dominated corner kicks (11-2) and also earned slightly more fouls (11-8).
The Devils will take a road trip to Dallas, Pennsylvania to battle Misericordia on October 12th at 1:00 PM.
