Women's Basketball Falls to Arcadia, 86-48

Glenside, PA (January 24) – The FDU-Florham Women's Basketball Team traveled to Arcadia for a Wednesday evening MAC Freedom contest and fell to the Knights by a score of 86-48.

FDU-Florham (9-8, 2-5 MAC Freedom) saw its fifth loss in MAC Freedom play and overall it's eighth loss of the season. First-year Neysa Aguilar (Middlesex, NJ) finished with 17 points, while Carla Seyfarth (South Brunswick, NJ) added 8 points and 5 rebounds.
 
Arcadia (17-1, 6-1 MAC Freedom) had three players in double-digit scoring including Hanna Rhoades with 23 points.
 
Arcadia set the tone of the game early as the Knights went on an 11-0 run to open up the first four minutes and thirty seconds of the game. A jumper by Kolby Lynch (Morristown, NJ) ended the Devils score drought, but the Knights pulled ahead to end the first quarter by a score of 17-6.
 
FDU-Florham did give up in the second quarter, as for most of the time the Devils remained within 12 points until Arcadia went on an 8-0 run to end the first half, 37-16.
 
The Devils were able to find a shooting rhythm as they closed the gap to a 16-point differential after a free throw from Aguilar. After Arcadia connected on a three-pointer, the Knights were able to bring the score up to a  23-point differential at the end of the third quarter, 56-33.
 
Throughout the fourth quarter, Arcadia was able to extend their lead over the Devils even though a scoring effort of 15 points was made. FDU-Florham overall fell to Arcadia by a final score of 86-48.
 
FDU-Florham shot 28.6-percent (18-for-63) from the floor, 8.3-percent (1-for-12) from three-point range and 61.1-percent (11-for-18) from the free throw line, while Arcadia shot 50.8-percent (31-for-61) from the floor, 33.3-percent (8-for-24) from three point range and 94.1-percent (16-for-17) from the free throw line.

Arcadia scored 38 points in the paint, 24 bench points and converted 12 points off FDU-Florham's turnovers.   
 
FDU-Florham will return home on Saturday, January 27 for a MAC Freedom contest against King's. Tip-off is set for 1pm.
