Madison, NJ (September 30) – The FDU-Florham women's soccer team opened MAC Freedom play on Saturday afternoon and Stevens Institute of Technology snuck past the Devils for the 1-0 win.

The advantage in the first half was with the Ducks, as nine shots and three corner kicks were awarded. However, none of those opportunities were converted during that time.
FDU-Florham held strong with its defense, as the offense was able to collect six shots and draw three fouls on Stevens. The Devils found times to strike, but like the Ducks, they were not able to convert on any of their shots.
In the second half, Stevens was able to keep the advantage with thirteen shots and added six more corner kicks. However, the only difference in the second half was one of the Ducks' shots was scored as the game winner in the 72nd minute, by Rachel Rouse.
The Devils fought hard from the 73rd minute to the 90th minute, but ultimately fell 1-0 in the first MAC Freedom match of the year.
Graduate student goalkeeper,
Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) collected another nine saves, with seven in the second half. She saw a total of twenty-two shots on the pitch today.
The next game for the Devils falls on Tuesday, October 3, for a non-conference matchup at Alvernia. Kick off in Reading, PA is set for 7:30pm.
