Reading, PA (October 3) – The FDU-Florham women's soccer team dominated the Alvernia Golden Wolves, 6-0, for Tuesday evening non-conference action. With Tonight's win, the Devils surpassed their largest victory margin yet this season.

A fire was within the Devils from the very beginning of match as the first goal was scored within the first ten minutes.
Ashleigh Frankel (Branchburg, NJ) was fed a pass up through the middle and was able to push the ball past the goalkeeper for an easy goal.
FDU-Florham was awarded a penalty shot in the 13th minute of the match and
Carly Santucci (Middlesex, NJ) was able to convert for her first goal of the season, as well as to give the early 2-0 lead.
Just as the Golden Wolves thought the Devils were cooling off,
Jenna Conanan (Hazlet, NJ) sent the ball up the field for
Ashley Dietrich (Middletown, NJ) to gather and strike at the 19:24 timestamp.
Before the half expired, Junior
Mia Lopez (Rockaway, NJ) wanted in on the action and gave the Devils their fourth goal of the match in the 23rd minute.
The Alvernia was able to find opportunites to score as they had six shots, but none of those shots was seen past Devils goalkeeper
Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) who collected two saves in the first half.
The second half gave a new spark to FDU-Florham as they were quiet in the first six minutes until
Madison Kleinwaks (Boonton, NJ) chipped it in off a pass from
Dietrich, 5-0.
Netting her second goal of the night and season, as well as the Devils sixth goal of the match, was
Santucci, as she headed the ball to the back of the net off a corner kick from
Kleinwaks in the 70th minute of the match.
The Devils held the advantage in shots from the beginning with a total of 15(8), compared to Alvernia with 12(3). Each team was awarded five corner kick opportunities which resulted in one successful corner for the Devils.
Graduate Student goalkeeper,
Blackburn, ended the night with three saves within 66 minutes of playing time, while Sophomore
Ava Gianni (North Brunswick, NJ) stepped in for the remaining 24 minutes of the match, but did not account for a save.
FDU-Florham will next travel to Lebanon Valley on Saturday, October 7 as the second game in an away game series. The Devils second MAC Freedom match of the year is set for a 1 PM kick off.
