Riverdale, NY (September 3) – The FDU-Florham women's soccer remains undefeated through the first weekend of the 2023 season, as they defeated the College of Mount Saint Vincent, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon for a non-conference match.

After getting a feel for the turf underneath their cleats, the Devils decided to strike 19 minutes into the match. Junior
Mia Lopez (Rockaway, NJ) led the charge with a goal that was assisted by her teammates
Amanda Martinho (Bridgewater, NJ) and
Ashley Detrich (Middletown, NJ).
The Devils' second goal of the day was scored by
Detrich, 67 minutes in to the game. She was fed a lob pass from over the midfield mark, then wove her way around the CMSV defenders and goal keeper for her third goal of the season.
The College of Mount Saint Vincent was able to convert on a penalty goal kick with a little over 20 minutes left to play, lifting the pressure on the score, 2-1. However the Devils defense prevailed, securing the win on Sunday afternoon.
Senior goalkeeper
Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) made seven saves as she was kept in goal for the entirety of the match.
FDU continues on the road, traveling to take on Kean Wednesday, September 6 at 7:30 pm.
