Madison, NJ (May 1) – On Monday May 1, the FDU-Florham Devils baseball team (7-32, 4-20) and the Wilkes Colonials (17-23, 11-13) faced off for the last regular season MAC Freedom Doubleheader. The Colonials escaped the Devils in game one 5-4, and took game two with a score of 3-0.
Game 1:
FDU-Florham combined for three hits in game one vs Wilkes. Brody Donovan (South Plainfield, NJ) accounted for two hits as well as his second homerun of the season.
FDU-Florham secured 3-0 lead in the first inning by a sacrifice fly for the RBI from
Chris Kubas (New Providence, NJ), a run scored on a wild pitch, as well as a RBI from
Zach Ganca (Merrick, NY).
Wilkes added a run in the third inning and then was able to take the lead in the fourth by scoring on a wild pitch and a single through the right side for 2 RBI, 4-3. With two outs in the first inning, Donovan walked up to the plate and sent the ball over the left center field fence to tie the game at 4-4.
In the top of the seventh, the Colonials placed the ball down right field line to bring in what would be the winning run, 5-4, as the Devils were unsuccessful in the bottom of the seventh.
Wilkes' Mike Show (2-2) recorded the win in game one as he was seen in for two inning and record one strikeout. On the mound for the Devils was first year
Jake Stollar (Flemington, NJ) (1-1)
, as he saw eleven batters in three innings.

Game 2:
FDU-Florham was able to mark two hits in game two, but lost to Wilkes, 3-0.
In the first inning
Tyrus Chippendale (Middlesex, NJ) gave FDU-Florham its first hit by sending the ball through the right side for single. The Devils added their second hit in the bottom of the fifth from
Jimmy Finnerty (Augusta, NJ) for another single through the right side.
Wilkes found their momentum in the sixth inning as they added four hits and three runs to secure the in win over the Devils in game two.
Senior
Anthony Molina (Bound Brook, NJ) (0-5) was seen pitching for the Devils through the first 5.2 innings. Molina record four strikeouts before being given the loss. Wilkes' Aiden Murphy pitched all of game two and record 12 strikeouts on 24 batters.
For their final game of the regular season, the Devils will be hosting Saint Elizabeth for a non-conference match, taking place at 3:30pm on Tuesday, May 2.
