Madison NJ. (April 22)- The FDU-Florham men's tennis team (8-4, 5-1 MAC FREE) snapped an 18-match losing streak to Wilkes as they downed the Colonels, 9-0 in its regular-season finale on Saturday morning.
The Devils jumped out to a quick 3-0 advantage after doubles play. The pair of
Tyler Crook (East Orange, NJ) and
Joni Carasso (Buenos Aires, Argentina) took down the duo Connor Frey and Nathanial Rathe 8-0 while the team of
Zach Puccia (Red Bank, NJ) and
Brandon Schwartz (
Gladwayne, Pa.) were able to defeat Donovan Zong and Jonah Nguyen, 8-1.The pair of
Karanveer Saini (Punjab, India) and
Quinn Carmody (Hingham, Mass.) finished off the doubles action with a win against the duo of Ian Williams and Drew Fiedler, 8-4.
In singles action, The Devils took care of the Colonels and earned to clean sweep. Crook defeated Rathe (6-0, 6-0) and Carasso downed Frey (6-2, 6-2). Puccia sealed the win for the Devils in singles #3 with a clean 6-0 and 6-0 sweep against Nguyen. The matches closed out with
Ronald Duval (Old Bridge, NJ) taking down Zong (6-1 and 6-0),
Matthew Emery (Howell, NJ) blanking Williams (6-0 and 6-0) and Schwartz defeating Fielder, 6-1 and 6-1..
After the match, the FDU-Florham tennis program honored its seniors

Zach Puccia and
Tyler Schacher for their senior day celebration.
FDU-Florham will host third-seeded DeSales in the MAC Freedom Semifinals at Saint Elizabeth University on Tuesday, April 25 with a 3:00 pm start.
