Dallas, PA (April 22) – The FDU-Florham baseball team (7-28) dropped the last two games of the weekend series to MAC Freedom opponent Misericordia (30-6) in Saturday afternoon doubleheader action.
 
Game 1:
 
FDU-Florham collected three hits in game one but lost as Misericordia brought in five runs in the first inning, in a 12-2 game.
 
With Misericordia's five run lead in the first inning, the Cougars tacked on another five runs before FDU-Florham's Brody Donovan (South Plainfield, NJ) homered to left field for the Devils first run of the day.
 
The Cougars added another two runs in the fifth inning to put the game out of reach going into the seventh inning. Before the game ended, Donovan was able to double to left field for a RBI but was short of the effort as the Devil's lost 12-2.
 
On the Mound to start for FDU-Florham was Nick Rizos (Woodridge, NJ) (1-5) as he was seen through the first inning.  Misericordia's Tyler Leonard (4-2) was awarded the win as he pitched six innings and struck out seven batters.

Game 2:
FDU-Florham was also able to collect three hits in game two, but was not able to secure the second game as they lost to the Cougars 6-0 for the final game of the series.

Misericordia started game two strong with a four run first inning and added their fifth and sixth runs in the third and fourth inning.

FDU-Florham was able to connect with the ball in the top of sixth when Jack Giovenco (Allentown, PA) singled to third base for a chance to start the momentum. The Devils were not able to jump start the momentum as they fell 6-0 in game two.

FDU-Florham honor the First Responders who serve the Madison community and the area with a non-conference game against Stockton on April 25. The first pitch is set for 3:30pm.
