Madison, NJ (March 24) – The FDU-Florham baseball team (7-24) saw a 11-2 setback against SUNY Maritime College (19-9) in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.
Tyrus Chippendale (Middlesex, NJ) recorded one hit and scored one run on three at bats, while
Jimmy Finnerty (Augusta, NJ) saw a hit, a run, and an RBI in today's game.
SUNY Maritime led with momentum early as Matt Milone homered into left center field. The Privateers added eleven more runs from the second inning to the seventh inning.
FDU-Florham saw a chance for a late comeback as Finnerty doubled down the right field line for the RBI in the seventh inning.
Brody Donovan (South Plainfield, NJ) fell short to collect more runs, but was able bring Finnerty home due to a double play to the shortstop, 11-2.
Robbie Hughes (Union, NJ) (0-2) started on the mound for the Devils and was unfortunately given the loss after pitching three innings with two strikeouts. For SUNY Maritime, Hayden Strycharz (1-1) was awarded the win after collecting two strikeouts in two innings.
