Doylestown, PA (April 16) The FDU-Florham Baseball team (7-23, 4-13 )fell 3-15, to Delaware Valley (13-16, 7-10) in a MAC Freedom Contest. Sunday afternoon's game was the third game of a weekend series between the Devils and Aggies.
Delaware Valley was the first to post in the run column as they added six runs within the first two innings. In the third inning, It was the Devils' turn to contribute to run column as they added one run from
Tyrus Chippendale (Middlesex, NJ) by sending him home on a error by the short stop, 1-6.
Coming the top of the sixth inning,
Vincent Ferrigno (Malboro, NJ) placed the ball in right field for a single, as it was enough to bring in a two run RBI, 3-11. Delaware Valley kept the momentum up as they added another four runs to end the game in the top of the ninth, 15-3.
The Devils accounted for nine hits in today's MAC Freedom contest. Senior
Jimmy Finnerty (Augusta, NJ) and Sophomore
Mark Geist (Middlesex, NJ) each were responsible for two hits on four plate appearances in today's contest.
On the Mound for FDU-Florham was
Brody Donovan (South Plainfield, NJ) (0-2) as he pitched one inning and recorded one strikeout before receiving the loss. Derek Cannon was awarded the win for Delaware Valley, as he pitched through 5.2 innings with three strikeouts recorded.
For their next game, the Devils will host a non-conference game against SUNY Maritime on Tuesday, April 18, with the first pitch occurring at 3:30pm.
