Softball Completes Half of a MAC Freedom Doubleheader Against Arcadia

Madison, NJ (April 15) – The FDU-Florham Devils (9-11, 2-7) secured game one, 4-2, against the Arcadia Knights (15-16, 4-5,), and suspended game two due to weather implementations, in Saturday afternoon's MAC Freedom Doubleheader.
 
Game 1:
 
FDU-Florham came out in game one swinging as they defeated Arcadia 4-2. The Devils first run came in the top of the first from junior right fielder Kacie Centineo (Waldwick, NJ), as she singled down the left field line for a two run RBI.
 
Arcadia came into the top of the second and secured one of their two runs off a throwing error to send the runner home to make the score 2-1.
 
In the bottom of the fourth, The Devils managed to go up on Arcadia 4-1, by a homer to left field by Kristina Pelano (Howell, NJ), as well as a second home run to center field by Abigail Rodriguez (Woodbridge, NJ) for her first career homerun.
 
Arcadia made a valiant effort for a comeback in the bottom of the seventh, as they added a home run to center field from Megan Sooy to up the final score 4-2.
 
Graduate-student pitcher, Ciara Hoffman (Freehold, NJ.) (5-5) pitched a full seven innings and recorded two strikes. Juliana Presto of Arcadia was seen through six innings and recorded nine strikeouts while facing 25 batters.

Game 2 of today's double header was cut short due to the weather. The game has been suspended and a make-up date has not been posted.
 
FDU-Florham will travel to Delaware Valley on Wednesday April 19 for a MAC Freedom doubleheader. The first pitch will be thrown at 3pm.
