Camden, NJ (March 4) – FDU-Florham baseball wrapped up its week with a 15-2 setback to Rutgers-Camden University on Saturday afternoon at the Camden Athletic Complex.
FDU-Florham (3-2) was only able to scrape together a pair of runs in the top of the sixth, while Rutgers-Camden (2-1) scored at least one run in six of eight innings that it came to bat.
Rutgers-Camden starter David Robeson (2-0) shutdown the FDU-Florham bats as he tossed six innings, allowed two runs and struck out nine. The Devils scored their lone runs of the game on a sacrifice fly and an RBI single in the top of the sixth by
Zach Ganca (Merrick, NY) and
Jimmy Finnerty (Augusta, NJ), respectively.
The Scarlet Raptors added nine runs over the final four frames highlighted by back-to-back RBI triples in the seventh inning en route to the 15-2 win.
In his second collegiate start,
Nick Rizos (Wood Ridge, NJ) shouldered the loss (0-1) as he lasted 3.1 innings and allowed nine hits, six runs (five earned) and struck out one.
