Ithaca, NY (March 4) – The FDU-Florham women's lacrosse team fell to #10 nationally-ranked Ithaca College, by a 22-7 final on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

Jenna Ranney (Forest Hill, Md.) registered her first career hat trick today to lead the Devils offensively. Classmate
Lizzy Escudero (Bridgewater, NJ) potted a pair of goal and an assist to bring her goal total to eight on the week.
Emma Barborak (Forest Lake, Minn.) and
Marissa Ross (Owings Mills, Md.) accounted for the remainder of FDU-Florham's offense.
Ithaca (2-1) saw 12 different student-athletes find the back of the net highlighted by a four goal and six point performance by Caroline Wise. Wise also led the Bombers with a game-high eight draw controls in the win.
Ithaca outscored FDU-Florham 11-1 in the first quarter and 17-2 in the first half. Barborak scored for the Devils early in the first on a free position shot, while Escudero finished a pass from
Alexis Ashton (Blairstown, NJ) in the second.
FDU-Florham registered five goals in the second half, three of which came from Ranney. The other two goals came from Escudero and Ross.
Ithaca led statistically in shots (26-16) and ground balls (16-8) and went 17-for-19 on clearing attempts, while FDU-Florham went 8-for-10 in transition and held an 18-13 differential in draw controls.
In net,
Maddy Apap (Montgomery, NY) shouldered the loss (1-1) with two saves in the first half for the Devils. Ithaca keeper Lexi Held earned the win with a save over the opening 30 minutes of play.
FDU-Florham will travel to Sparks, Md. For a neutral site game with Roanoke College on Friday, March 10 at 6:00 pm.
