Myrtle Beach, SC (March 15) – The FDU-Florham softball team (5-0) railed through day three of the Fastpitch Dreams Classic in Myrtle, Beach. The Devils defeated Cairn, 9-0, in six innings as well as TCNJ, 8-6, in eight innings.
 
Game 1:
 
FDU-Florham softball faced Cairn University for their first game of the day. The Devils remained quiet throughout the first two innings. With a shot to the shortstop, Kristen Tigar (Hazlet, NJ) grounded out but not before her teammate was able to step on home plate for what would be the winning run. Within the same inning, Kristina Pelano (Howell, NJ) stole second which caused a throwing error by the catcher, to bring home Heather Priante (Howell, NJ) who was on third.

FDU-Florham added seven more runs, four of which came in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game ended at the end of the sixth inning, handing FDU-Florham a 9-0 win.
 
Bianca Disanto (Freehold, NJ) her first win with six strikeouts and only allowed one hit through six innings. Sydney Wright (0-1) pitched for the Highlanders and came away with one strikeout.

Game 2:

The Devils faced TCNJ in their second game of Wednesday Afternoon. The scoreboard was in favor of the Devils as they defeated TCNJ in eight innings, 8-6.

In the bottom of the first, the scoreboard began to light up for TCNJ as they scored off a throwing error by the Devils. Soon after, Jaclyn Carifi singled up the middle for an RBI (2-0). In the fourth inning, TCNJ added to their lead with a single to the shortstop for an RBI.

Magic was in the air come the seventh inning for the Devils. A spark was seen when Kacie Centineo (Waldwick, NJ) singled to the left field for an RBI, closing the score within two. The tying run came from a single a up the middle for two RBI off of the bat of Dana Giardina (New Fairfield, Conn.). If tying the score wasn't enough, the Devils decided to tack on an addition three runs to make the score 6-3 going into the bottom of the seventh.

TCNJ got to work as Camryn Kitchin walked up to the plate and sent the ball deep into left field for a two-run homer. The Lions were able to score once again, 6-6, off a fielding error in center field.

In the eighth with one out and a runner on second base, Bianca Disanto (Colonia, NJ) found the perfect spot in left field to lay the ball for a RBI double. TCNJ made a valiant effort in the bottom of the eighth but was just short as the Devils rallied for the 8-6 win.

Ciara Hoffman (Clifton Park, NY) was given the win (4-0) after pitching the entire game and recording four strikeouts. Three pitchers threw from the circle Wednesday night for TCNJ. Elizabeth Goose (3-1) was given the loss, but not without pitching three strikeouts in 7.1 innings.
