Madison, NJ (February 28) – The FDU-Florham men's tennis team opened its spring season over the weekend at the Drew University Ranger Doubles Invitational.
On Saturday, the men's tennis team picked up eight victories in their 16 total matches. First-year
Tyler Crook (East Orange, NJ) and senior
Joni Carasso (Buenos Aires, Argentina) teamed up for a 3-1 record on the opening day as they topped Schuler and Perea from Drew, 6-5 (8-6), Poleo and Leborne from Harford, 6-5 (7-4), and Majsajr and Bazant from Harford.
First-year
Kelvin Liwag (Marlboro, NJ) and junior
Brandon Schwartz (Glawyne, Pa.) also went 3-1 on the opening day of the invite with wins over Petrin and Keenan of Rowan College of South Jersey, 6-4, Bhattacharya and Reynolds of Drew, 6-0, and Kravchenko and Perera of Drew, 6-2.
On Sunday, the lone victors for FDU-Florham were Liwag and
Quinn Carmody (Hingham, Mass.) as they topped Bhattacharya and Carroccia of Drew, 6-3.
The Devils will have about a month off before they open dual match play at Brooklyn College on Thursday, March 30 at 3:00 pm.
