Delhi, NY (October 11) – In Wednesday evening non-conference action, The FDU-Florham women's soccer team traveled to SUNY Delhi and defeated the Broncos by a score of 3-1.

It was a quick start for FDU-Florham as the first goal was scored in the first two minutes of the match. Fifth year
Carly Santucci (Middlesex, NJ) was able to net her third goal of the season to give the Devils the early 1-0 lead.
In the 29th minute, SUNY Delhi was able to convert the Broncos only shot of the half for a goal by Jacey Nieckarz, to tie the score.
The Devils did not want to go into halftime tied, therefore first year
Heather Riess (Edison, NJ) took matters into her own hands by scoring her first collegiate goal, as well as what would be the game-winning goal, 2-1, in the 34th minute of the match.
Each team's defense held strong in the second half, as neither team was able to convert their shots to goals until the 74th minute. Devil
Reanna Garrett (Piscataway, NJ) added her second goal of the season while
Riess accounted for the Devils only assist.
FDU-Florham held the advantage on the field with 17 shots and six corner kicks, while SUNY Delhi added three shots and one corner kick. The Broncos overall fell to the Devils by a score of 3-1.
Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ), was seen in FDU-Florham's goal for the entire match and was only forced to make one save.
The Devils will resume MAC Freedom play on Saturday October 14, when they travel to Arcadia for a 6pm match.
