Madison, NJ. (January 14) – The FDU-Florham women's basketball team hosted fellow MAC Freedom opponent Misericordia University, but fell in a 102-38 final for the Devils on Saturday afternoon.
 
FDU-Florham dropped to 0-11 overall and to 0-7 in MAC Freedom play, while Misericordia improved to 11-5 overall and to 4-3 in the league.
 
The Devils were led by 
Abigail Rodriguez (Woodbridge, NJ), who totaled 14 points, three assists and six rebounds. 
Nour Elsayyid (Dover, NJ) registered a career-high 12 points to go along with seven rebounds and two assists.
 
Misericordia came out strong to start the first quarter, going on a 10-0 run over the first three minutes of the game. 
Destiny Knight (Philadelphia, PA) swished a jumper to get the first points for FDU-Florham. Misericordia continued to sink shot after shot to close the half at 48-12.
 
In the third quarter, Elsayyid led the scoring margin for the Devils with six of her twelve points. She knocked down a jumper, connected on an electrifying three-pointer, and went 1-for-2 at the line. 
Whitney Shyposh (Westfield, NJ) also added four points and Knight added two points from a layup in the third.
FDU-Florham closed the game by scoring fourteen points in the fourth quarter. Over the course of the game, Misericordia's 
Alyssa Bondi collected nineteen points, five assists, and two rebounds as the final score stood at 102-38 in favor of the Cougars after 40 minutes of play.
 
FDU-Florham shot 26.3-percent (15-for-57) from the floor, 8.3-percent (1-for-12) from three point range and 46.7-percent (7-for- 15) from the free throw line, while Misericordia shot 48.2-percent (41-for-85) from the floor, 37.8-percent (17-for-45) from three point range and 75.0-percent (3-for-4) from the free throw line.
Misericordia scored 34 points in the paint, 29 points off FDU-Florham turnovers and 55 points off the bench.
 
FDU-Florham's next game will be on Wednesday, January 18 at 8:00 pm in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, against Delaware Valley University.
