Madison, NJ (September 7) – Sophomore forward Mia Lopez (Rockaway, NJ) scored the lone goal of the contest to help lift FDU-Florham women's soccer past Kean, 1-0 on Wednesday night during its home opener.

After a scoreless first half, Lopez scored the game-winning goal at the 53:21 mark on a breakaway opportunity set up by sophomore forward Ashley Dietrich (Middletown, NJ), who was credited with the assist.

Senior goalkeeper Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) collected three saves during her second straight shutout between the pipes.

The Devils commanded the offensive presence, shooting 15 shots on the day while limiting the Cougars to only four shots. FDU also saw seven corner kicks to Kean's one.

FDU women's soccer starts the season 3-0 for the first time since 2019.

The Devils continue a three-match homestand Saturday, September 10 as it hosts Elmira at 2:00 pm

FDU-Florham is currently running a campaign in honor of former Devils men's basketball head coach, men's golf coach and athletic director Roger Kindel.
