Newark, NJ (September 21) – The FDU-Florham women's soccer team, which is receiving votes in this week's D3Soccer.com National Poll, tied the program's longest unbeaten streak in program history with tonight's 2-0 victory over Rutgers-Newark University on the road.

Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) came up with nine huge saves for the Devils, including four in the first half that kept the game scoreless until the 25th minute. Junior
Aleyna Gross (East Lansing, Mich.) played a ball into the box where
Francesca Escudero (Bridgewater, NJ) was waited to finish the pass for the 1-0 advantage.
Division III women's soccer national player of the week
Mia Lopez (Rockaway, NJ) added an insurance goal in the 78th minute after driving through the Rutgers-Newark back line. Lopez ran through three defenders and finished her shot into the bottom left corner of the net.
Blackburn preserved FDU-Florham's seventh shutout of the season and her fifth complete game shutout of the year with five additional saves over the final 45 minutes of play. FDU-Florham's seventh shutout of the 2022 season ties the Devils for the most in Division III thus far, while Blackburn's five complete game shutouts are second most in the nation.
FDU-Florham will host Stevenson University in a cross Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) contest on Saturday, September 24 at 3:00 pm. The Homecoming matchup is slated to take place on Elizabeth Ruth Hennessy Field.
