Dallas, Pa. (April 8) – The FDU-Florham baseball team fell to Misericordia University, 16-3, in the opener of a three game Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) set this afternoon on the road.
 
FDU-Florham sits at 15-8 overall and 6-4 in league play, while Misericordia improved to 16-10 and 6-4 in the MAC Freedom.
 
After a tight four innings which saw the Devils trail 1-0, Misericordia exploded for five runs in the fifth, three in the sixth and six in the seventh en route to a 16-3 final. An RBI single accounted for Misericordia's first run. In the fifth, the Cougars got their runs on a two run double, a two run single and an infield hit.

FDU loaded the bases in the top of the eighth, but was only able to get one run out of the chance on as Sean Wodell (Freehold, NJ) reached on a fielder's choice.
 
Misericordia starter Isaac Snyder earned the win as he scattered just three hits, struck out six and allowed one earned run in six innings. Joseph Kastner (Springfield, NJ) took the loss on six hits, six runs and a strike out in 4.1 innings on the bump for FDU.
 
Both teams will travel to Madison tomorrow to complete the three game series. First pitch is slated for noon and between games the Devils will honor their 2002 ECAC Championship Baseball team which will be inducted into the FDU-Florham Hall of Fame on Sunday afternoon.
