Madison, NJ (April 27) – The FDU-Florham women's lacrosse team locked up the number one in the MAC Freedom tournament after a 25-1 victory over Delaware Valley University this afternoon on Robert T. Shields Field.
FDU-Florham (14-2, 7-0 MAC Freedom) will be the top seed in the tournament for the second consecutive season after the Devils went 16-0 en route to the MAC Freedom title a year ago. Delaware Valley fell to 1-13 overall and 0-7 in the MAC Freedom.

Lizzy Escudero (Bridgewater, NJ) broke the single game record for points today with 15 (five goals, ten assists) and tied the single game record for assists, while first-year
Marissa Ross (Owings Mills, Md.) tied the single season record for draw controls with 15 on the day and 147 on the year. Not only did Escudero break the single game record for points, the junior posted the second most points and assists in a game across all of NCAA Division III women's lacrosse today.
As a team, FDU broke the season game record for points in a game with 39, broke the record for assists in a game with 14 and tied the single game record for goals in a game with 25.
The Devils used 13 different goal scorers this afternoon to account for their 25 goals on the day.
Katie Walsh (Marlton, NJ) and Escudero led the offense with five goals each, while Garcia and
Alexis Ashton (Blairstown, NJ) both tallied hat tricks today. Nine other student-athletes scored single goals including

Anacapri Slack (Voorhees, NJ),
Kayla Brunner (Manahawkin, NJ),
Brynn Levins (Haddon Township, NJ),
Jenna Ranney (Forest Hill, Md.),

Angelina Ruscitti (Bayville, NJ) and
Melanie Peck (Mendham, NJ).
In net,
Maddy Apap (Montgomery, NY) picked up the win (4-0) with one save over the first 45 minutes of action.
FDU will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, April 30 with a MAC Freedom matchup at King's College (Pa.).
