Dallas, Pa. (April 23) – The FDU-Florham women's lacrosse team secured a berth in the MAC Freedom playoffs today with a 19-6 victory at Misericordia University. The Devils improved to 12-2 overall and to 6-0 in league play after the win this afternoon.
 
The Devils were paced offensively by Lizzy Escudero (Bridgewater, NJ), who registered seven goals and two assists for nine points, as well as Kylee Garcia (Branchburg, NJ), who tallied six goals and three assists for nine points. Katie Walsh (Marlton, NJ) added in a hat trick, while Alexis Ashton (Blairstown, NJ) chipped in with a pair of goals.
 
The opening seven minutes of the game saw both teams trade goals and saw Misericordia take a 3-2 edge after a goal by Alyssa Delgadillo at the 6:52 mark. For the remainder of the half, the Devils outscored the Cougars by a 11-1 margin for a 13-4 lead at the break. In the second quarter alone, Garcia scored three of her six goals, while Escudero also tallied a hat trick in the second.
 
FDU scored twice on the man advantage and outscored Misericordia by a 6-2 margin in the second half to secure the 19-6 victory.

As a team, FDU out shot Misericordia, 34-14, held a 22-16 margin in ground balls and went 14-for-17 on the clear. The Devils also won 22-of-29 draw controls in the win.
 
FDU keeper Jamie Kubach (Philadelphia, Pa.) made four saves over the first three quarters of the game to improve to 9-2 on the season, while Maggie McGovern stopped the ball nine times for Misericordia in the loss.
 
The Devils will play their final regular season non-conference game on Tuesday, April 26 on Robert T. Shields Field against Moravian University at 7:00 pm.
