Madison, NJ (March 23) — The FDU-Florham women's lacrosse team scored at least five goals in every quarter to runaway with a 21-11 non-conference triumph over Kean University on Wednesday evening at Robert T. Shields Field.
Lizzy Escudero (Bridgewater, NJ) highlighted the attack with a season-high 12 points (four goals, eight assists).
Escudero's 12 points fell one shy of tying Caroline Pape's school record (13 vs. Moravian, 4/15/2019), while her eight assists were two away from equaling Courtney Rendinaro's (5/2/2015) program high.
The Devils also saw
Katie Walsh (Marlton, NJ) and
Alexis Ashton (Blairstown, NJ) net four goals apiece, while
Kylee Garcia (Branchburg, NJ) and
Brynn Levins (Haddon Township, NJ) produced hat tricks to highlight the rest of the offensive onslaught.
In goal,
Jamie Kubach (Philadelphia, Pa.) and
Maddy Apap (Montgomery, NY) split halves making two saves each. Kubach was credited with the win, her fourth this season (4-1 overall).
FDU-Florham held a 10-5 advantage on the scoreboard at the break and was never challenged the rest of the way. The Devils led by as many as eight goals twice in the second half (15-7, 3rd, 2:45 | 16-8, 4th, 12:08) before a 5-0 run to close out the contest represented the Cougars' largest deficit on the matchup.
As a team, FDU-Florham won the draw controls matchup, 19-17, and were nearly perfect on clear attempts going 20-for-22.
The Devils will travel to Lebanon Valley this Saturday for a non-conference matchup at 1:00 pm.
