Annville, Pa. (March 26) –
Katie Walsh (Marlton, NJ) and
Kylee Garcia (Branchburg, NJ) combined for 12 of FDU-Florham's 18 goals on the day as the Devils picked up an 18-4 non-conference win over Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon.
Walsh registered her 100th career goal today with her five goals, while Walsh led FDU-Florham (5-1) with seven goals and eight points this afternoon.
Lizzy Escudero (Bridgewater, NJ) continued her hot streak with seven points (2 goals, 5 assists) against the Dutchmen (5-4) today.
The Devils scored the first six goals of the game and led by a 12-2 margin at halftime. Walsh, who needed three goals for 100 career tallies, netted her hat trick midway through the second. The sophomore has now scored four or more goals in three consecutive games and in four of six games this spring.
FDU's defense held Lebanon Valley to just two goals in the second and two in the fourth to account for the 18-4 final.
As a team, FDU outshot Lebanon Valley 40-15 and held a 17-13 edge in ground balls. The Devils also went 12-for-14 on the clear and forced 11 turnovers.
The FDU goalkeeping tandem of
Jamie Kubach (Philadelphia, Pa.) and
Maddy Apap (Montgomery, NJ) split time in net, posted seven combined saves and held an opponent to four or fewer goals for the third time this season.
FDU will host crosstown rival Drew University on Wednesday, March 30 at 3:30 pm.
