Hackettstown, NJ (October 29) – The FDU-Florham volleyball team finished its regular season with a pair of 3-0 sweeps over in a non-conference tri-match with Centenary (NJ) and The King's College (NY) this afternoon. The Devils are now 13-10 on the season and matched their win total from a year ago heading into next week's Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Tournament.
The Devils began the day by defeating host Centenary by set scores of 25-19, 25-12, 25-19 and were guided by 11 kills from
Gabbie Hart (Cherry Hill, NJ) and a career-high ten kills from
Vanessa Freeman (Piscataway, NJ). Both
Rachel Reiter (Riverside, Calif.) and
Charlotte Fruscione (Mahwah, NJ) added seven kills apiece in the match one victory. Freeman finished her first collegiate double-double with 13 digs as well. Defensively,
Kacie Ros (Bridgewater, NJ) registered a match-high 16 digs, 37 assists and two service aces.
FDU-Florham capped its regular season with a 25-8, 25-7, 25-14 sweep of The King's College (NY). Reiter registered a match-high 11 kills and swung at a .647 clip, while Fruscione tallied a team-high 12 digs. In the nightcap, the Devils hit a season-high .318 as a team and ended the tri-match with a combined 88 kills compared to their opponents 31 between the two matches.
The Devils will travel to DeSales University as the fifth seed in the MAC Freedom Tournament for the 4/5 Play In Game at 7:00 pm.
