Madison, NJ (October 1) – The FDU-Florham women's soccer team saw its 11-game win streak come to an end this afternoon as the Devils were edged by Cabrini University, 1-0, in non-conference action on Robert T. Shields Field. Today's matchup between the two teams was the first in program history.

Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) and Cabrini keeper Caroline Hassall made three saves apiece over the opening 45 minutes of play. The Devils held a slim 7-6 edge in shots in the first half as the matchup was scoreless at the break.
Cabrini broke the scoreless tie in the 76th minute as Alyssa DeGeorge put back Grace Langefeld's saved shot that was originally stopped by Blackburn. In total both teams combined for just five shots in the second half as the game came to an end in a 1-0 final in favor of the visitors.
Both teams registered nine shots this afternoon, while FDU-Florham held a slim 6-5 edge in corner kicks.
FDU-Florham will open Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Tuesday, October 4 with a trip to Stevens Institute of Technology at 7:00 pm.
