Men’s Soccer Blanks Valley Forge in a 2-0 Senior Day Win

Madison, NJ (October 1) - The FDU-Florham men's soccer team secured a 2-0 win against Valley Forge in a non-conference game on Robert T. Shields Field, in Madison, NJ Saturday afternoon.

The Devils started today's match ten minutes before kickoff, as they recognized their seniors Christopher Przygodzi (Butler, NJ), Christian Vriones (Butler, NJ), Oliver Trujillo (Bridgewater, NJ) and Mateo Ladino (Montville, NJ).

Within the first half of the match, the Devils had many good looks on goal as they took 11 shots over the opening 45 minutes of action.

The first goal of the day was scored by the Devils sophomore Drilon Toska (Lincoln Park) at the 59:18 mark of the second half. Toska scored his sixth goal of the season off lobbed a ball from Jonathan Shirley (Lincoln Park), around 35 yards out. Toska was able to float the ball over the goalkeeper, who was coming out to make the potential save.

With 2:11 left in the game, Vriones struck for a shot, but was saved by the Valley Forge keeper. Junior forward Scott Tolochko (Boonton, NJ) was there for the rebound, placing it in the back of the net for his first collegiate goal of his career and the Devils second goal of the game.

Graduate goalkeeper Tiernan Grey (Staten Island, NY) made three saves in today's match.

With both Toska's and Tolochko's goals, the Devils secured the win over Valley Forge, improving their record to 5-2-2 on the 2022 season. The Devils are now 5-0-1 over their last six contests and is the longest known unbeaten streak dating back to 1999 in the NCAA records.

FDU-Florham is back in action again Wednesday October 1 at 7:00 PM, when they hit the road to take on third-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology.
