Madison Kleinwaks (Boonton, NJ) both registered their first collegiate goals this afternoon as the FDU-Florham women's soccer team defeated Alvernia University, 2-1, in non-conference action.

Ashley Paulino (Linden, NJ), who made one save in the game, picked up the win in net for the Devils and tied the program record for career wins with 36. She is now tied with Annie George '16 who posted 36 from 2013-16.
First Half:
- Alvernia scored in the fourth minute when Grace Silva fed a ball to Kyla Gibson, who drove up the middle of the FDU defense and shot the ball past Paulino into the corner of the net.
- The score remained at 1-0 in favor of Alvernia until there was just one second left in the opening half. Graduate student Tatiana Nieto (Clark, NJ) crossed the ball from the left side of the field, juked the defender and crossed the ball to Dietrich, who planted the ball into the upper corner of the net tying the game before the break.
Second Half:
- With 3:15 remaining in regulation, Kleinwaks shot the ball off an Alvernia defender gathered the rebound and ripped a second shot into the top right corner of the net giving FDU the 2-1 lead.
- FDU's defense stood strong for the final three minutes as the Devisl defeated Alvernia by a 2-1 final on Sunday.
FDU out shot Alvernia by a 27-4 margin and held a 13-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Devils will play their first road match of 2021 on Wednesday, September 8 as they travel to Kean University for a 7:30 kickoff.
