Madison, NJ (September 4) – A goal by Rutgers-Newark with 18 seconds left in the first overtime session was the difference as the FDU-Florham women's soccer team fell to the Scarlet Raiders by a 1-0 final.

Ashley Paulino (Linden, NJ) made six saves and the Devils defense held the visitors off the board for nearly 100 minutes of action.
With under 30 seconds to play in the first overtime,
Mariana Valencia found the feet of
Tamia Howell, who cut through the middle of the FDU defense, had a breakaway opportunity and buried the ball into the bottom right corner of the net.
The host Devils out shot Rutgers-Newark 7-4 over the opening 45 minutes of action, but over the final 54 minutes of play both teams got a hold of nine shots. Both programs ripped seven shots on net in today's contest.
In the overtime session,
Tatiana Nieto (Clark, NJ) had a clean look at the goal at the top of the box but her shot sailed just over the crossbar.
FDU-Florham welcomes Alvernia University to Madison tomorrow afternoon for a non-conference contest at 12:00 pm.
