Madison, NJ (September 28) – Goals by
Ashley Dietrich (Middletown, NJ) and
Amanda Croce (Wayne, NJ) were the difference in tonight's non-conference matchup as the FDU-Florham women's soccer team won the "Battle of Madison Avenue" against Drew University, 2-0, on Robert T. Shields Field.
The Devils are now 2-0 against Drew this season as the men's soccer team earned a win over the Rangers earlier in the fall.

The Devils scored just 1:42 into the game as
Tatiana Nieto (Clark, NJ) found Dietrich for the 1-0 advantage. Nieto passed the ball from the 40 yard line to the feet of Dietrich who registered her team leading fifth goal of the season after she met with the Drew keeper at the top of the box.
FDU doubled its lead in the 58th minute as Dietrich crossed the ball from the left side into the box to Croce, who notched her second goal of the 2021 campaign.
The Devils held off the Rangers late in the matchup as the visitors had their best looks at net in the 68th minute when they rang back-to-back shots off the crossbar and left post.
As a team, FDU out shot Drew, 14-6 (8-3 on net) and held a slim 4-1 edge in corner kicks. FDU keeper
Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) picked up the shutout win with three saves in net as she upped her record to 4-0 this fall. Three goalkeepers divided duties for the Rangers led by Amina Cirkiel, who played 66 minutes and made four saves.
FDU will open Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Saturday with a matchup at Wilkes University at 1:00 pm.
