Tatiana Nieto (Clark, NJ) registered the game winning goal in today's 1-0 non-conference win at Elmira College.

FDU out shot Elmira 11-1 over the opening 45 minutes of action but could not find the back of the net. After a scoreless 81 minutes, Nieto broke the 0-0 match after she ripped the ball into the left side of the net from the top of the box. The play was set up by first-year
Ashleigh Frankel (Branchburg, NJ) who passed the ball to Nieto from the left side of the field.
Elmira nearly tied the match up just a minute after FDU's goal as Rachel Bortnick was awarded a penalty kick however her attempt sailed over the crossbar keeping the score at 1-0 in favor of the Devils.

Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) and
Ashley Paulino (Linden, NJ) split time in net and combined to make one save over 90 minutes. Blackburn, who played the second half, was awarded with the win as her record pushed to 3-0-0 this fall.
As a team, FDU held an 18-2 advantage in shots (10-1 on goal) and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Devils will return home for a non-conference matchup with crosstown rival Drew University on Tuesday, September 28 at 7:00 pm.
