Madison, NJ (September 22) – The FDU-Florham women's soccer team played a tightly contested non-conference match against Albright College this afternoon on Robert T. Shields Field, but fell by a 1-0 final.

Albright scored the lone goal of the game in the ninth minute. Gabrielle Rhoades fired a shot at net, but the attempt was stopped by FDU keeper
Ashley Paulino (Linden, NJ). Emily Serpico picked up the rebound and took another shot for the Lions and ultimately found the back of the net.
FDU had many good looks for an equalizer in the second half, but Albright keeper McKenna Levan made three saves over the final 45 minutes to hold the Devils scoreless in today's matchup.
As a team, FDU out shot Albright 12-9 and held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks. Paulino (4-3-0) played the opening half for the Devils and made four saves.
Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) made one save for FDU in the second half.
FDU will welcome John Jay to Madison for a non-conference matchup on Saturday, September 25 at 11:00 am. Prior to the start of the match, FDU will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the official dedication of Elizabeth Ruth Hennessy Field.
