MADISON, NJ (April 29, 2021)- FDU Women's Lacrosse hosted the MAC Freedom Semi Final game at Robert T. Shields Field on Thursday afternoon, defeating King's College, 22-6. With the victory, the Devils keep their undefeated season alive at 15-0 and move on to the Championship game, Saturday.
First Half
FDU scored the first six goals of the game, started by the games leading scorer, sophomore 
Kylee Garcia at the 28:27 mark. Senior 
Mia Michaelides followed suit at 25:53 and Garcia netted another at 25:06, giving the Devils a 3-0 lead. Junior 
Paige Frye picked up her first of the game, followed by Garcia's third in an eight-minute span and first year 
Katie Walsh's first, completing the six goal FDU opening run. King's scored their first of the game at 21:53 off the stick of Emily Sims, cutting the lead to 6-1. Garcia's fourth and 
Aliyha Elk's first made it 8-1 Devils, with 19:50 left in the first half.
The play went back and forth for the next six-minutes, before the Monarchs netted their second of the contest. Walsh responded for the Devils just 40-seconds later, regaining the seven-goal advantage, 9-2. Sophomore 
Emma Ciquera put her first in the back of the net and Garcia her fifth, pushing the lead to 11-2. King's added one and the Devils three before the end of the half. Walsh, first year 
Aubrey Hunter and Elk, added to the FDU lead, giving the Devils a 14-3 advantage at the break.
Second Half
The second half of play saw King's come out hot, scoring the first three goals of the half and cutting the lead to eight, 14-6. At the 16:50 mark, FDU put their foot on the gas with a goal from senior 
Madison Wood, the start of their final run. Wood added two more for a total of three and Elk and Garcia each score two a piece, putting the Monarchs away, 22-6.
Leading the Charge 
Garcia was on fire, scoring seven goal in the contest, leading all scorers, while adding two assists. With today's performance, Garcia passed the 100-point mark in her career as only a sophomore.
Point Parade
Nine different Devils recorded a point in the contest with seven different FDU players scoring a goal, and four recording two or more.
Next Up
FDU hosts the MAC Freedom Championship game on Saturday, May 1 at 1pm. They await the winner of Misericordia University and Stevens Tech.
