CENTER VALLEY, PA (April 17, 2021)- FDU Softball traveled to DeSales University on Saturday afternoon for a MAC Freedom doubleheader, falling in both games, 1-0 and 7-2.

Game 1- 1-0, L
Junior
Ciara Hoffman started in the circle for the Devils, going the distance in the contest and collecting six strikeouts while surrendering five hits.

The game was a pitcher's duel throughout, with each team taking turns leaving runners on base. DeSales was able to capitalize in the bottom of the last frame, with two hits and the game winning run. First yar
Kacie Centineo led the charge for the FDU offense, collecting two of the teams six hits. Seniors
Francesca Shipe,
Taylor Tobey,
Nicole Casale and
Dani Sames each finished with a hit apiece.

Senior
Kaleigh Oplinger took the ball in game two for FDU. She went all 6.0 innings in the game, striking out a season high eight batters.

The Bulldogs got the scoring started with three runs in the second and two runs in the third to take a 5-0 lead. The Devils responded with two runs in the fourth thanks to RBI singles from Shipe scoring Tobey and first year
Kristen Tigar scoring junior Christine Conway. DeSales would go on to add two more runs over the next two innings to complete the 7-2 victory.
