WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 15, 2021)- FDU Women's Basketball traveled to Wilkes-Barres, PA on Monday evening to take on Wilkes University in a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom matchup. The Devils fell by the final score of 58-31.

First Half
The Colonels started the first quarter off on an 11-0 run, before first-year
Jade-Dee Tolentino got the Devils on the board with a bucket in the paint. Fellow first-year
Madison Daly also netted a basket down low, followed by sophomore
Jayda Bing with a one-minute left in the first quarter. FDU scored six points in the frame, Wilkes led, 19-6.

Tolentino scored her second of the game, followed by senior
Arian Coleman with four straight points and capped off by Jade-Dee again inside the key. Tolentino added two more at the free throw line before the half ended, finishing with six in the second quarter and eight in the first half. Colonels held the lead at the break, 34-16.

Second Half
Bing got the scoring started in half number two, connecting on her second field goal of the game just 30-seconds in. After a basket from Wilkes, senior
Francesca Shipe knocked down her first shot of the game. Playing in just her second game of the season, junior
Helen Ishmael came off the bench with 4:21 left in the third quarter and hit her first bucket of the season. Bing added another before the third ended, Colonels held a 47-23 advantage headed into the final quarter.

In the fourth, Shipe and Coleman combined to score all eight of the Devils points. Shipe hit two from the line and one from inside the key and Coleman knocked down two layups in the paint. After 40-minutes of play, Wilkes earned a 58-31 win.

Crazy 8's
Both Tolentino and Coleman finished the game with eight points. Coleman added eight rebounds to her line while Tolentino added seven. Bing (6 pts) also finished with eight rebounds on the day.

The Devils out rebounded the Colonels, 48-42 and 20-13 on the offensive glass.

Next Up
FDU will play in the MAC Freedom vs. MAC Commonwealth Crossover Challenge on Thursday, March 18, when they travel to Eastern University for their final game of the season. Tip-off for that contest is scheduled for 7pm.
