Madison, NJ (October 12) – For the third time this season, the FDU-Florham women's cross country team finished first overall as today the Devils topped crosstown rivals Drew University and Saint Elizabeth. FDU finished with 25 points, while Drew finished second with 35 points and Saint Elizabeth took third with 72 points.
Today's meet marked the first time that the Devils have hosted a race in program history.
Senior
Bridget Lapham (West Hempstead, NY) crossed the line first overall in 13:10.0 just 0.70-seconds ahead of Aubrey Johnson of Drew. Sophomore
Mary Griffin (Ridgefield, NJ) took third overall with a time of 13:37.1, senior
Clare Posillico (Baldwin, NY) finished fourth overall with a time of 14:09.7, first-year
Julia Conklin took eighth place in 15:33.1 and first-year
Maria Marquez (Harrison, NJ) finished ninth in 15:35.5.
Graduate student
Nina Sorce (Stockholm, NJ) crossed the line 12th overall in 15:55.6. Her score did not count towards FDU team's score as she was the sixth runner to finish for the Devils.
FDU will now prepare for the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship which is slated to take place on Saturday, October 30 at 11:00 am on the campus of DeSales University.
