FDU Women's Soccer Blanks Delaware Valley, 3-0

Madison, NJ (October 12) – FDU-Florham women's soccer graduate student Amanda Croce (Wayne, NJ)registered five points as the Devils defeated Delaware Valley, 3-0, in a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) matchup on Robert T. Shields Field.

The win was the tenth of the season for FDU-Florham marking the fourth straight season that the Devils have won at least ten games. It also marks the eighth double digit win season under head coach Kristin Giotta.

Croce gave FDU a 1-0 lead as she registered her seventh goal of the season and fourth in the past three games in the 16th minute. Carly Santucci (Middlesex, NJ) played the ball to Nathalia Gallo (Parsippany, NJ), who fed it to Croce, who finished her shot for the early advantage.

Ashley Dietrich (Middletown, NJ) and Croce set up the second goal of the game in the 53rd minute as one touch passes to the feet of Gallo gave the Devils a 2-0 lead. Gallo's goal was her first of the season.
 
Croce tallied her second goal and fifth point of the game in the 62nd minute after Gabriella Garita (Fort Lee, NJ) passed the ball to Croce for FDU's third goal of the match. Garita's assist marked the first collegiate point for the first-year.
 
As a team, FDU out shot Delaware Valley, 20-10 (9-3 on goal) and held a slim 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
 
The FDU goalkeeper duo of Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) and Ashley Paulino (Linden, NJ) combined for three saves in the shutout effort.
 
FDU will travel to Lycoming for another MAC Freedom matchup on Saturday, October 16 at 12:00 pm.
