Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Devils Bested by Stevens Tech, 63-48

Hoboken, NJ (January 29, 2020)- FDU Women's Basketball fell to the Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday night, 63-49. With the loss, The Devils fall to 3-15 overall and 1-6 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom, while the Ducks improve to 6-12 overall and 3-4 in the MAC Conference.

RECAP
Stevens started the game on a run, jumping out to an early 10-0 advantage. The Devils would respond with a run of their own, scoring five straight on a bucket from freshman Jayda Bing and triple from freshman Angela Downey. The ducks would continue to build their lead, ending the first quarter leading 18-7.

After Stevens was able to control the first five minutes of play in the second quarter, FDU went on an 9-0 run to cut the deficit. Downey and Bing combined with seniors Arian Coleman and Cayla Staggers to complete the scoring. The lead would stay double-digits as the Ducks took a 37-22 advantage into the halftime break.

Throughout the third quarter, Stevens continued to add to their lead, outscoring the Devils 18-12 in the quarter. The fourth quarter belonged to FDU, holding the Ducks to only eight points and finishing with 14 of their own.

LEAD DEVIL
Bing had another great performance in a Devils uniform, finishing with her fifth double-double of the season with 19 points and a career high 15 rebounds.

FELLOW FRESHMAN
Downey was money from beyond the arc, knocking down four triples and finishing the game with 12 points.
